What Are Your Options For Having Missing Teeth Replaced, If You Have To Have A Tooth Pulled?

Even though missing teeth might sometimes appear cute on kids, they can sure be a source of embarrassment for adults. They can cause a shift of the remaining teeth and other health problems such as bone loss.

Below are a few options for the replacement of missing teeth:

  • A fixed hybrid bridge (also called Teeth in a Day or All On Four)
  • A full bridge
  • A single tooth dental implant
  • A partial bridge
  • A full bridge

As to the benefits of these various options, each one has their pros and cons. A dental implant, however, is the absolute best way to replace a missing tooth, and it is simply the placement into the bone of a man-made tooth root. A crown is then placed on top of an abutment that has been screwed into the implant. Unlike removable bridges or partials, an implant is a permanent solution.

A hybrid bridge that is implant-supported, or what some call a fixed denture is the very best solution if all your teeth are missing, and a permanent solution is desired.  A set of dentures that are precisely placed on four to six implants, then given a permanent fit by screwing them down are then placed in the upper or lower arch. They will present a really beautiful smile, are very strong and they look natural.
