Fixed Bridges
Have just a few missing teeth? A bridge may be the answer for you.
Replacing Missing Teeth With Fixed Bridges
You have several options to replace them if you have teeth that are missing. We can help you choose the option of treatment that is best for you, depending on the number of your missing teeth.
A fixed bridge is one replacement option, if you only have one or two missing teeth. This option of restoration is highly functional, aesthetic and generally made from porcelain. Where a partial denture is removable, this replacement option is a permanent solution.
Below are several reasons for the need of a fixed bridge:
- Restore and improve your smile
- As an upgrade to a more permanent solution from a partial denture
- To prevent your remaining teeth from moving out of place or drifting
- Tom restore your ability to speak properly or chew your food
- Filling in the space of teeth that are missing
- The maintenance of your faces’ natural shape
Getting a Fixed Bridge – What’s Involved
You will need to be prepared for a couple more appointments if your decision is to get a fixed bridge after consulting with our doctor. The teeth that will support the bridge have to be prepared for the reception of the crown while your teeth are still numb.
To prepare the restoration, we will need to make impressions of your teeth, including the area of your teeth that are missing. A temporary bridge that will be worn until the next appointment, will have to be created.
We will put your fixed bridge in place, checking to make sure there are no problems, and that it fits properly, at the time of your second appointment. The instructions on the proper care for the permanent bridge will be given to you then.
A fixed bridge may certainly be a good solution for you, if you have missing teeth. More office time could be required and other, more costly issues could arise the missing teeth are not replaced.
Call us for an appointment today, and let us get started with the consultation to determine which solution will be the best for you.
