At our office, we realize that every mouth and smile are unique, and so in order to suit the individual needs of each patient, we offer a variety of dental solutions.
Many patients have the problem of teeth that are missing, due to gum disease, trauma or tooth decay, and so in order to deal with a smile that has an embarrassing gap, they come to us searching for a solution.
Types of Dentures As Dental Solutions
We offer these types of dentures as typical solutions to fill gaps caused by missing teeth:
Dentures That Are Immediate
On the same day that your teeth are removed, we insert the immediate dentures into your mouth, as their name suggests. You don’t have to go a day without your teeth, and that’s the advantage.
We will record your choice of shape and color for your new teeth, as well as make the impression of your teeth at the time of your initial consultation. All your natural teeth will be removed (generally under heavy sedation) and the denture inserted at the time of your second appointment.
As your gums and jawbone heal, follow-up appointments will be required to adjust and realign the dentures.The final realigning will be performed to refit your denture to your jar contour and gums.
Removable Dentures That Are Partial
One or more teeth can be replaced by a removable, partial denture, which is constructed with an enhanced base of metal with acrylic, or an all-acrylic composition. When fixed bridges are not available due to the lack of enough natural teeth, the best option may be a removable, partial denture, which is an acceptable, attached bridge alternative.
In order to prevent the development of dental fungal infections, and to allow relaxation time for your gums, these partials should always be removed at night, even though they may be kept in throughout the day.
Dentures That Are Locked-in
The placement of implants into the lower and upper arch of the mouth is required to support the implant denture. The implants then have abutments screwed into them, and then to make the solution a permanent one, a newly fashioned denture is screwed down on top of the implants.
For those who truly want to stabilize their dentures, this is a really nice options. It means no more putting them into a glass jar at night, or having to use goo to hold them in place.
